Mint Hill is known to be a very friendly town, with a population just over 26,000 (2017).
Located just outside of East Charlotte (close to the Cabarrus and Mecklenburg County borders), Mint Hill is wedged between University City and Matthews. It offers an easy commute to south and north Charlotte via I-485.
Residents can enjoy a soothing rural life style, while having full access to the bigger events and services offered in the city of Charlotte.
Mint Hill is a great place for those who are looking for small town living within a peaceful, upscale, rural community. The beautiful rolling countryside of Mint Hill is truly where town meets country.
Along with the natural beauty of the land are a host of local niceties that one gets to enjoy in a small town.
From annual traditions like choosing your own Christmas tree at the local lot, to dropping in at the ice cream parlor or just going to the Farmer's Market where the produce is truly local.
There is a strong and cohesive sense of community in Mint Hill as many of it's current residents either grew up here, or have been living here for many years.
The town has ongoing events to further solidify this home-town feel. These include events created by the town of Mint Hill for Mint Hill as well as general holiday event celebrations that take place on Veteran's Day, Fourth of July and throughout the year.
Mint Hill specific events, include: Sunday Afternoon in the Park - which is a crafts fair, featuring local artists and musicians; Mint Hill Madness happens on Memorial Day weekend - this includes a parade, carnival rides and games; and Family Fun Nights, which are free events, ranging from Movie Nights to Concerts on the Lawn and Back to School pep rallies.
Mint Hill prides itself on its carefully planned development. This includes zoning for shopping and businesses as well as sport fields. (To note, plans for a new athletic park have been proposed.)
The Pine Lake Country Club and Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation offer local golf, and the Mint Hill Athletic Association, covers a large group of organized sporting events.
Recreational facilities at the Veteran's Memorial Park and the Park on Wilgrove include ball fields, tennis and volleyball courts, horseshoes, disc golf as well as picnic shelters, walking, roller-blading and bicycle paths.
The Carl J. McEwen Village also offers it's own laid back source of recreation as it takes you a step back in history. Whereas the high-energy Urban Air Adventure Park takes you in another direction with sky-high drop zones, climbing walls and an arcade.
Mint Hill is served by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Public School system. For general information on school assignments, go here.
As for residential real estate, Mint Hill has a nice variety of home styles to choose from as well as a good mix of neighborhoods styles.
These include equestrian communities, golf course homes for sale in Olde Sycamore, as well as new home communities and well established Mint Hill favorites.
