Lake Norman is surrounded by the towns of Cornelius, Davidson, Denver, Huntersville, Mooresville, Sherrill's Ford, and Troutman. These charming towns offer a wide selection of leisure amenities for visitors and guests.

Lake Norman is our largest area lake and borders five counties, so it does get busy with boat traffic. It can handle quite a bit, as the lake is 34 miles long with 520 miles of shoreline.

There are lake restrictions, setbacks and buffer zones. The water level on Lake Norman ideally should be at 760ft. That is considered “full pond”.

The towns established the Lake Norman Economic Development, a nonprofit organization responsible for the planning and implementation of economic development strategies in the Lake Norman region.

The organization aims to attract new capital investment and create new, highly skilled jobs for the residents.

The town of Mooresville is a large city where you'll find everything you need without making a trip to Charlotte - which from Mooresville is a 33 mile drive. Nonetheless, driving to Charlotte for a Panthers football game or to enjoy the Broadway Lights series at the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, can still be handled in a 45 minute drive time.

The southern most tip of Lake Norman is 25 miles north of Charlotte and within easy reach of the Concord Regional Airport and the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.
