Charlotte's four Uptown wards are organized around the intersection of Trade and Tryon Streets, but each has developed a somewhat different character. Frazier Park helps give the western side of Third Ward a neighborhood feel that can be easy to overlook when viewing Uptown only as a business district. That combination makes Third Ward worth considering for buyers who want an Uptown address but would also like some separation between home and the most intensely commercial blocks of Center City.
Housing can vary considerably from one part of Third Ward to another. When comparing properties, look beyond price and square footage to the building or community itself, association finances and dues, parking, rental restrictions, outdoor space and the exact location within the ward.
