Iredell County is located in the central section of North Carolina. The townships that can be found in this county include Statesville, Harmony, Love Valley, Mooresville, Troutman, Union Grove, Turnersburg, Mount Mourne, and Barium Springs. The county seat is Statesville and its largest town is Mooresville. Lake Norman, the largest man-made lake in the state has 520 miles of shoreline within Iredell County.

Farming is still a major source of income for many Iredell County residents. However, the rapid population growth and development in southern Iredell County is putting increasing pressure on farmlands.
