The Point at Trump National at Lake Norman

Membership at Trump National

All owners in The Point are (at least) social members of Trump National Golf Club Charlotte, and as such, can enjoy dining in the Tavern, the Dining Room, the Men's Lounge as well as shopping in the General Store and the Bakery.

The social membership gives you the ability for your children to participate in the activities and events offered in the Trumpeteer Kids program.

The Trump National golf course was designed by Greg Norman. It incorporates the gently sloping terrain of The Point, along with Lake Norman.

This is a challenging 18 hole course with some of the slickest greens in the area. Over two-thirds of the holes play along or over the lake.

Tennis at Trump National

Tennis at Trump National offers world-class facilities, and competes within the Piedmont Interclub League as well as the USTA League. 

The club offers training on all levels as well as private instruction and clinics provided by the professional staff on site. 

The Tennis complex features four lighted Har-Tru clay courts, two lighted hard surface courts and another two hard-surface courts (lighted), off Brawley School Road. These, with spectator seating. 

The Tennis Shop is fully stocked with equipment and apparel to handle all your tennis purchasing needs.

The Aquatic Center

The Aquatic Center is within the lower section of the village - near the lake.

The first thing you'll see as you enter the pool area, is the fantastic water slide lighthouse and the whale slide.

There are three swimming pools, and combined, can handle the needs of a growing family. The pool features include a zero entry pool, heated 6 lane lap pool and a 145 foot slide. The splash pool has an interactive water gizmo, with water wheels and jets.

For leisure, it features over-sized lounge chairs, sun and shaded areas as well as the Cabana Grill - which is equipped with a full bar and grill.

Just for Kids

The Trumpeteers Program is a program created specifically for kids from 3 to 12. Here children are able to explore, play and learn in the Kid's Trumpeteer Clubhouse. 

The Trumpeteers are in two age categories: Jr. Trumpeteers range from 3 to 7 years old, and Trumpeteers are between the ages of 7 and 12.

Overseeing the Trumpeteers, is a full time activity Director just for the kids. They design programs, and offer daily and evening childcare, as well as creating themed camps, activities and celebrations throughout the year. They will also coordinate events for Parent's Night out. 

The Village at The Point

Once inside the community, the Village Square is just past the main green, which hosts anything from a soccer game, to the Easter egg hunt, to an evening concert.

The Village Square (as mentioned early on) has The General Store and a Bakery. It is also where you will find membership services, The Tavern Restaurant and Lounge, the Outdoor Veranda (overlooking the 18th green), the Pro Shop, the Spa and the locker rooms. 

Beyond the Village Square (the lower village) is where you will find the recreational facilities, including the swimming  pools, the fitness center, the racquet club, the playground, and the lakeside boardwalk.

The Ballroom

Standing to the left of the recreational facilities, is where you will find the Lakefront Ballroom.

With its elegance and beautiful views of Lake Norman, the Lakefront Ballroom has become one of the most sought-after destinations for wedding receptions and corporate gatherings.

The Lakefront Ballroom is the site of member events and can also be rented for private events. It can comfortably seat 230 people for a ceremony, 350 for a sit-down dinner and up to 500 people for an hors d’oeuvres event.

The room can be divided up into smaller sections, or function as a whole. The ballroom, is fitted with large crystal chandeliers - and is quite stunning.

The Villages inside The Point

The homes in The Point are located in villages located off of the main boulevard. Each of the “village” streets have New England names.

Below, you'll fine the names associated with the different villages, as well as a description of the trails that are found in each of them. 

The Main Village

The trail has four entrances, each identified by a small stone marker. They are on Easton Rd., Old Post Rd. and two on Falmouth Rd. 

This trail is approximately one mile long. It is very level and a great place to walk with your family, friends and pets. On Halloween the local neighbors light and decorate the trail for trick-or-treating. This tradition has grown over the years and is enjoyed rain or shine.

Harwick Village

A trail with markers on Chatham Rd. and Mayfair Rd. It is about a half mile long with several levels steps and wooden bridges. It is a great place to get a short cardio workout during the summer months.

Aberdeen Village

This trail has a more rustic or natural aura. The gravel, meandering path accesses a boardwalk and several bridges, and if followed all the way to the end, drops the nature lover at the lake where there is a bench to rest for a moment. Children love to catch salamanders in the creek, dogs find something new to sniff on a daily basis, and residents have seen deer and opossum at dusk. Trail stone markers are at the 2 entrances on Wild Harbor and the 1entrance on Atlantic Way.

Chatham Village

A gravel trail circles an open space along Mansfield Loop. Informal soccer and football games often take place in the green surrounded by this trail. Two covered benches provide a good place to relax and enjoy the activities. 

Kittansett Village Entrance

A short gravel walk that takes you for a nice detour off Brawley School Road with a covered bench to rest in the shade.

Sconset Village

A trail/walk runs through the middle of the Village providing a lovely view of the homes in this community.

Homes at The Point

Although a luxury community, The Point is loaded with southern charm, and offers a mix of sizes and architectural styles. You'll find homes on golf course lots as well as waterfront lots. You will also find homes offering deeded boat slips, as there are several long piers offering deeded slips to those on interior lots.

As a note, you may notice that the homes are on "septic tanks". The system is electronically controlled and operated by the home owner association. If it is something you are leery of, a conversation with the operating company will prove worthwhile.
